Linda Golding's work was introduced to Whitby Galleries in 2010 at the start of her journey into what she refers to as 'serious painting' and sharing her work.
By then her familiar quirky style had begun to emerge following lengthy experimentation with composition and colour, along with the idea to paint contemporary art for the contemporary decor that was being introduced at the time and very much in contrast to the mainly traditional seaside depictions of the day.
Setting out to create something very different she chose bright cyan blue skies in block 'paint by numbers' fashion and broke the rules with her use of black outlines and strong compositional leading lines, distorted buildings and townscapes...however the mood took her. A process that continues to this day with subjects and ideas for paintings continually evolving with everyday life experiences.
Each piece is lovingly created with the hope that one day it will hang proudly in the home of whoever feels a connection with it.
